I am the teacher, Ms. Stellar.
I will tell you about outer space. In outer space, astronauts float.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrteacherupsidedown.png?w=794)
You might see me upside down. You might see me sideways.

I am ok because I know how to float around in outer space.
Here, I will show you more about planets, moons and the Sun that are in outer space.
Earth is a planet.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrearthwindow.png)
Earth is a planet because it goes around the Sun.
Earth has a moon.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrearthsmoon.png)
The Moon is not a planet. A moon goes around a planet.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrstellarplanetbook.png?w=1024)
There are other planets going around the Sun.

![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrmercury1.png?w=1024)
Mercury is planet number 1. It is the first planet from the Sun.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrvenuswindow-1.png?w=1024)
Number 2 planet is Venus. Venus is a neighbor to Earth.
You can see Venus from your house. Venus is the bright light.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrvenusfromhome.png)
Planet number 3 is us … Earth!
Where is your house on Earth?
Earth has another planet neighbor – Mars.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrmarswindow.png?w=1024)
Mars is Planet number 4.
Mars has 2 moons.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrmaswmoons.png)
You can see Mars from your house. Mars is a small red light.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sscrmarstv.png)
Number 5 is the biggest planet, Jupiter.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/sscrjupiterwindow.png)
Jupiter is made of clouds and storms. The Great Red Spot is the biggest storm.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/sscrsaturnwindow.png?w=1024)
Planet 6, Saturn, has huge rings that you can see with a telescope.
🌜 Saturn has more than 50 moons.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/sscrsaturntelescope.png)
Planet 7 is Uranus.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/1633742778915_sscruranuswindow2.png?w=580)
Uranus is the sideways planet. It flies through space on its side.
🌜 Uranus has more than 20 moons.
Planet number 8 is Neptune.
![](https://solarsystemclassroom.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/sscrneptunewindow.png?w=1024)
Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun. It is at the outer edge of our solar system.
🌜 Neptune has more than 10 moons.
Now you have seen how a solar system is made.
